Edison's Mission

It is our mission at Edison Middle School to work collaboratively to place the focus on the academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student first and ensure that

ALL students are prepared for post-secondary education.

PTSA meeting is tonight, 6 pm in the Edison Library.  An agenda is attached.

Hello 7th Grade Parents: Your student has contributed to the overall academic and behavior success in 7th grade!  As recognition and celebration the teachers are making goodie bags for the students. If you can or want to help please do so by donating one bag of candy (any kind) or individual bags of chips to help the teachers celebrate their success on Friday FEB 12.  If you want to donate please have your child give the item to Mr. Bergman, Ms. Rotramel or their grade level Administrator, Mr. Blood by FEB 11. Thank you so much!

Dance: the next Edison Dance is Friday February 12, 6-8 pm at school.  See attached flyer for details.  We'll need parent volunteers for gym monitors, hall monitors, and concession sales: sign up here www.SignUpGenius.com/go/20F0D4EAEAF2DA20-edison1

No School on Monday February 15 for President's Day.

Applications for the Edison chapter of the National Junior Honor Society are now available from Mr. Cain (room 128) and in the main office (and attached to this message).  Applications are due to Mr. Cain by March 4, 2016.  Current National Junior Honor Society members do not need to complete the applications for this year, but should contact Mr. Cain about their 2015-2016 community service hours.  If there are any questions please contact Mr. Cain at cainza@champaignschools.org or 351-3771.

Black History Fact: Black History Month began as "Negro History Week," which was created in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson, a noted African American historian, scholar, educator, and publisher. It became a month-long celebration in 1976. The month of February was chosen to coincide with the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln.

On Saturday, March 12, Bottenfield Elementary School will host a 5K run/walk in honor and memory of Wendy Huckstadt.  Mrs. Huckstadt served in Unit 4 for 14 years.  She passes away after battling cancer. She was known to motivate students and families to live an active and healthy lifestyle. In honor of her commitment to health, this race is in her honor. To get more information, there is an attached flyer or you may register online at: www.bottenfield5k.weebly.com or Mrs. Wells has information as well.
