·         Student Council: Student Council will meet Wednesday, September 30 in room 234 from 2:45 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.  Our next big topic will be the Eastern Illinois Food Bank Food Drive starting in October.  Also, we will be participating in the Eastern Illinois Food Bank’s “Food Fight”  which is a contest between area schools to raise the most money.  Updates on the leading schools will be announced on WCIA’s Morning Show each morning from October 5 - 16 by Rob and Ann.  Please encourage your children to donate their loose change rather than buying extra chips or drinks from the vending machines.  Each homeroom will have a teacher collecting the money.

·         Volunteers Needed for School Dance This Friday:  The first school dance at Edison Middle School is Friday, October 2 from 6 - 8 p.m.  It is usually the largest of the year. Jenny Redden, coordinator for the dance, is looking for a minimum of 25 volunteers to help sell concessions and monitor the gym. Volunteers should arrive at 5:45 p.m. and check in at the concession table in the cafeteria. There will be a table with name tags and duty assignments. If you would like to volunteer, please let Jenny know by contacting her directly, jenlyn.redden@gmail.com. Some kids prefer that their parents stay in the cafeteria and not be in the gym, just let her know.

·         Cross Country: Congratulations to Ashton Hyatt for winning a medal at the cross country meet in Peoria on Friday. The cross country team competes again tomorrow (Tuesday) in Tolono.
