April 29

 

• Track Team: Good luck to our track team this Sat., May 4.  This is their last regular seasoned meet prior to sectionals.  It has been a very wet track season. 
  

 

• Sports for 2013-2014: Fliers for 2013 - 2014 for Cross Country, Baseball, Girls Basketball, Boys Basektball, Wrestling, and Volleyball can be found on the athletic bulletin board outside room 122.
  

 

• Centennial Volleyball Camp: Attached is information about Centennial's volleyball camp.
  

 

• XC and BB: for 2013 - 2014  both of these sports start Aug. 5.  Anyone interested must join the team on Aug. 5 for the first practice or for tryouts. 
  

 

• GBB: GBB info has also been attached since their season begins so soon after school begins.

April 29

 

• Day in the Park: Edison Middle School Bands invite you to the annual Day in the Park: Please join us at Hessel Park this Saturday, May 4th at 2 pm for performances by the 6th, 7th and 8th grade Concert Bands, plus Jazz 1, Jazz 2 and Jazz 3. Concessions will be available. Action Inflatables for just $1 a turn or a $5 wrist band for unlimited turns during the afternoon. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the Edison Middle School Auditorium. • PTA Council: PTA Council is offering bridge activity books to Unit 4 students. These books contain activities that match curriculum from the school year and provide materials for the children to work at their own pace over the summer months. More info along with the order form is attached.

• Memorial Sculpture Museum: All are welcome to come to the annual, 8th grade Memorial Sculpture Museum in the Edison South Gym, on Tuesday, May 7, from 8am - 12pm. On display, will be students' original sculptures and accompanying text to memorialize deceased victims of prejudice and hatred due to discrimination.  Please join us to remember victims, such as those killed in The Holocaust, and also be a part of our voting process by filling out a voting slip so we can determine a winning group with the most effective display.  Any questions?  kallemra@champaignschools.org

• 8^th Grade Promotion: 8^th grade promotion date is Friday May 24^th at 9am. Because space is limited in the auditorium each graduating 8^th graders will receive 2 tickets. Admission to the event is by ticket only. If you need additional tickets please let Anne Lanman know. E-mail is lanmanan@champaignschools.org or call 217 351-3771. You will be placed on a waiting list for extra tickets.
  

 

• Calendar of Events for 8^th graders and other students: The end of the school year is just around the corner. There are so many events and activities that happen, particularly for 8^th grade students, we have put together a calendar of events for parents. Calendar is attached
