EDISON PTSA ANNOUNCEMENTS
January 11
· Computer Club: Computer Club will meet today, January 11th. All students are welcome to come. The next meeting will be Monday, February 1st.
· Creative Writing Club: Creative Writing Club will NOT meet tomorrow (January 12). The next meeting will be Tuesday, January 19 from 2:45-4:00 p.m. in room 246.
· Smile! Interstate Studios will be doing Yearbook group pictures tomorrow (January 12) at the very beginning of the day. Also, Spring Casual pictures will be taken on Thursday, February 11, 2010. Those will be done during PE. Forms will be sent out at a later date.
· Parents, Students and Teachers: Please join us at the next PTSA meeting which will be held tomorrow (January 12) at 7 p.m. in the Edison Library.
· Student Council: There will be a Student Council meeting this Wednesday (January 13) from 2:45-3:30 p.m. in room 234. Anyone may still join Student Council. Grab a friend and come on in.
· Parents of 8th Grade Boys Basketball Players, Managers or Pom Squad Members: 8th grade boys basketball players, managers and Pom Squad members will be recognized at the last home game on January 14. Parents or students need to let Ms. Borchardt know the names of the parent(s) who will be attending. Parents are asked to be at Edison by 4:45 p.m. on the 14th.
· Baby Pics for 8th graders: All 8th graders are encouraged to bring in a baby picture or two for the 8th grade Baby Picture display. Please have your name on the picture(s). Explorers give your picture(s) to Mr. Guzman and Navigators give your picture(s) to Ms. Borchardt. Pictures are due by Monday, March 29. You will get the picture(s) back the day of promotion. If you have any questions ask Mr. Guzman (guzmanje@champaignschools.org) or Ms. Borchardt (borchaja@champaignschools.org).
· Volleyball: Edison’s 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams are playing very well. Last Tuesday, they played Urbana: the 7th grade team won in two games and the 8th grade lost in two games. Then on Wednesday, both teams won in two games against Danville North Ridge. Congrats! They play St. Matthew’s tomorrow (January 12) at 4:15 p.m.
January 8
· Edison Yearbook: Parents, students and teachers who have taken pictures at Edison events throughout the year, we need your pictures for the school yearbook! Please share your pictures with Mrs. Easton via e-mail, disc or flash drive at eastonka@champaignschools.org or room 346. The deadline for sharing photos is February 16. All discs and flash drives will be returned.
· 2010 sweatshirt orders: The 2010 sweatshirts are still on back order. They should be in at the end of January. 2010 t-shirts have been handed out.
· PTSA Board Meeting: The PTSA Board will meet Monday, January 11 at Za's on Neil Street at noon. They will be discussing the agenda for the regular PTSA meeting to be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Anyone is welcome to attend.
· Congratulations! The 7th and 8th grade boys basketball teams played great games Wednesday against Jefferson Middle School. Both games were very close. The 8th grade team won 39-38. The 7th grade team lost 36-35. Thanks to all the fans for coming out to cheer on the team!
· Wrestling fundraiser: The Champaign Wrestling team is having a fundraiser at PoBoy's in Urbana on Sunday, January 17. Please see the attached flyer. Come out to support the Wrestling Comets!

Jan. 14: BBB vs Urbana, 4:15 p.m. This is the last home game. Parents of 8th grade boys basketball players, managers and Pom Squad members, please let Ms. Borchardt know the names of the parent(s) who will be attending the last home game recognition. Parents are asked to be at Edison by 4:45 p.m.
Jan. 19: VB vs Normal Parkside, 4:15 p.m.
Jan. 20: BBB at South View, 4:15 p.m.
Jan. 21: VB vs Urbana, 4:15 p.m. and BBB at Franklin, 4:15 p.m.
Jan. 23: JV wrestling meet at Bloomington, 9:00 a.m.
