EDISON PTSA ANNOUNCEMENTS
December 4
· Texas Roadhouse Gift Cards: The Edison Poms Squad is running a fundraiser in collaboration with Texas Roadhouse. You can purchase your Texas Roadhouse Gift Cards from any member of the Poms Squad and they will hand deliver your cards to you. Also, for every $20 gift card you purchase you will receive a $5 off coupon. Gift Card sales will run through Friday, December 11th and will be distributed the following week. · Cookie Exchange: The PTSA is hosting a cookie exchange for teachers. The idea is that each teacher will leave with a variety of cookies to enjoy. We are looking for parents who would be willing to bake 4 to 6 dozen cookies (brownies, fudge, or other baked treats are fine too!). If possible we would like them dropped off at the school the morning of December 16th. If possible, I would also like a copy of the recipe ahead of time to have on hand in case a teacher would like a specific recipe. · Wrestling: Wrestling begins today from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. in the south gym.
· 8th Grade Girls Basketball: The 8th grade Lady Comets basketball team ended their regional play on Monday night. Congratulations on a great season!
· Volleyball Tryouts: Tryouts for volleyball will follow the schedule below:
Wed., Dec. 2: 8VB tryouts 4:30 until 6:00 pm in NG and 7VB tryouts 6:00 until 7:30 pm in NG
Thurs., Dec. 3: 8VB practice 4:30 until 6:00 pm in NG and 7VB practice 6:00 until 7:30 pm in NG
Fri., Dec. 4: 8VB practice 4:30 until 6:00 pm in NG and 7VB practice 6:00 until 7:30 pm
Mon., Dec. 7: VB Parent meeting at 5:30 in cafeteria
· Community Service Project: The AVID Community Service project for this year will benefit A Woman’s Fund. We are collecting hats, scarves, gloves and mittens for women and children as well as new children’s toys. There are collection boxes in each team’s AVID classroom. We hope all Edison families will help us make this a successful drive to help those in the Champaign/Urbana area. Collection dates are November 23-December 4.
· Congratulations to Two Edison Teachers! The PTSA would like to congratulate Mr. Bryan Foli and Mr. Jonathon Ramirez. Both teachers have recently received their National Board Certification. We would like to thank them for their hard work and dedication in helping make Edison a better place to learn!
· Computer Club: Computer Club will meet Monday, December 7th from 2:45-3:30 for part 2 of Squeak.

· Key Communicator Network Meeting: The Unit 4 School District is having a Key Communicator Network meeting on Monday, December 7 at 6:30 pm at Stratton Elementary. These meetings are open to the public. If there are topics you would like to have addressed contact Beth Shepperd at sheppebe@champaignschools.org.
