- Put A Cap On Cancer: On October 1st we would love for all of the students to "Put a Cap on Cancer!" Students will be allowed to wear a hat, but there will be a $2.00 fee. That fee will go to Provena Medical Center for a cure for breast cancer. It also is "It's all in the Jeans Day" for the staff. Members of the staff may wear jeans, but it will cost them $5.00. All proceeds will go to help with Cancer research!
September 22
- Home Access:The home access system is a way of tracking student grades and attendance online. You should have received a letter at registration explaining the system that included your login and password and a second letter with login information for your student. If you are unable to login with the information that you were given or you did not receive this information at registration please call 217-351-3771. If your student needs help with their information they can stop in the main office or the computer lab.
- Earn Money For Edison: You can help Edison earn money each time you shop for groceries. Sign up at any County Market or at www.freshtraditions.com Use school code # 331.
September 21
- PTSA Meeting Tonight: The PTSA will have their meeting tonight in the school Library. Informal gathering time is 6:45 and the meeting starts at 7 pm. All are welcome to attend.
- Student Council: will be meeting Wed. Sept 22 in room 234 from 2:45-3:30. Lots of current projects we have begun to work on so come on in and join the fun. Anyone is still welcome to join.

XC at Detweiler Park, 4:30 PM (XC runners need to leave class at 1:15)
- Student Absence: When your student is not coming to school, the absence MUST be reported to the attendance office by 9am each day the student is absent. The number is 351-3771. Contacting the student's teachers for homework assignments does not excuse the student from school.
