- PTSA Meeting: The next Edison PTSA meeting will be held on January 11th. Representatives from Central and Centennial High School will be at the meeting to discuss 8th graders transitioning to High School. 8th grade parents are encouraged to attend. Informal gathering time is at 6:45—meeting starts at 7:00 pm in the Edison Library.
- Champaign 150 Years Art Contest: Do you love Champaign and like to draw? Enter the City of Champaign's art contest and visually show why you love our town. A winner from 4 age groups will be selected and all artwork will be displayed at the Springer Cultural Center during February and March. Official rules and entry blanks can be picked up in the main office or at <http://www.champaign150.com>www.champaign150.com under Celebration Features. All artwork must be submitted to the Mellon Building by Wednesday, February 9th. (Attached is the official application).
- Community Forums: Champaign Community Schools will hold 3 informational forums to discuss the schools of choice program and the registration process. (Attached is the PDF with more information).

- 8th graders we need a baby picture: Please bring in a baby picture(s) in an envelope with your name on it. If you could put your name on the back of each picture that would be fantastic. The pictures will be used for a display. You WILL GET your picture(s) back on the day of promotion. Give your picture(s) to Mr. Guzman or Ms. Borchardt.
- Trivia Night: The Central High School Music Boosters announce the Second Annual Trivia Night, January 22, 2011 at Faith United Methodist Church. This event includes dinner (6 pm), trivia competition (7 pm), door prizes, snacks, and soda. Raffles and silent auction will occur throughout the evening. Answers are submitted by your team at your table; you are not required to answer questions individually. Entry fee is $160 for a team of up to 8 people and all monies raised will go to support Champaign Central's Music Programs. Please visit www.maroons.org/trivia for more information.

At County Market You can sign up for OR register your current County Market Max Card for Education to Edison Middle School, the number is #331. Remember even if you have already registered this needs to be updated annually. Target has a similar reward program called Take Charge for Education. Simply apply for a Target charge (Red Card)/debit card, get approved, and Target donates 1% of your Red Card/Target Debit card purchases to your school.
