Edison's Mission

It is our mission at Edison Middle School to work collaboratively to place the focus on the academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student first and ensure that ALL students are prepared for post-secondary education.

• Teacher Appreciation: For December Teacher Appreciation we are doing a cookie exchange for our teachers. We are asking parents to donate cookies (store bought or homemade it doesn't matter) Please drop off cookies on Thursday, December 20^th in the morning or have your student drop them off. Please e-mail cosette.fulk@sjcnc.org if you are able to donate cookies for our teachers.

 

• School Dance:  Edison's next all school dance will be January 11^th from 6-8pm. We need volunteers to help with concessions and chaperone. Please e-mail apatton2@gmail.com if you are able to help.

• Flu Season: Because we are in the middle of flu season, attached is some info about symptoms, when to send your student(s) back to school, and prevention.

• Jazz Concert: You're Invited to Edison Middle School's Annual Winter Jazz Concert Thursday December 13^th Featuring Jazz Band 3, Jazz Band 2, Jazz Band 1 at 7:00pm in the Edison Middle School Auditorium. Free Admission! Jazz Band 1 will be performing with guest artists: Tenor Saxophonist, Mark Colby (www.markcolby.com); Trumpeter, Mark Cornell; Drummer, Jon Ustin. Come out and enjoy this incredible night of live jazz music!

 

• Food Services: On January 11th the ethnic meal is Hummus and Naan (Flatbread)

• Musical Auditions: Anyone interested in auditioning for the musical?  The Directors are narrowing down their options and need to know who is interested in being a part of the fun!  If you are even the slightest bit interested in auditioning – sign up outside Mrs. Mennig's (Ms. Tock's) room!  There will not be any cuts – everyone who wants to be involved, can be! There will be an informational meeting in the next couple weeks to announce what musical we've chosen and the audition material.  Don't forget to sign up!

• Perfect Attendance Contest: Edison students will have a chance to win a Kindle Fire by having perfect attendance. See attached flyer for more info
