- 8th Grade Volley Ball: 8th grade VB tryouts have not been set. Please ignore the info in the previous announcement.
- Breakfast for AVID students/family: Edison AVID students and their families are invited to join the Edison AVID Team Teachers, Counselor, and Administrators for breakfast on Friday morning, December 3, 2010, from 7:00 – 7:50 a.m. in Edison's library. We'll be enjoying a meal together and celebrating the students' successes first quarter. Parking is permitted on State Street or at the Champaign Public Library for this event. Please use the original State Street door to enter the building.
- Picture Retake: Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Friday December 3. Anyone wanting their picture redone must bring their picture packet with them at the time of the retake. If they were absent on the day the pictures were taken, they can get a reorder form from the main office.
- Coat Drive: Warm A Kid coat drive is having asking for your help. Please donate any gently used or new coats, hat, mittens, and scarves, sizes 3T to 7/8 to the Champaign Early Childhood Program room 110 or you can bring the coats to Edison (Mr. Uppinghouse's office) We are identifying those children in need of a coat by teacher and parent referral. If siblings and parents are also in need, we will do our best to help them. - FUTURE FRESHMEN NIGHT: Centennial's Future Freshman Night is December 6 at Centennial. The event starts at 7:00, but doors open at 6:30 for seating. Centennial will be sending a letter/invite home to families. Central's Future Freshman Night is December 14th in Decker Theater at 7:00. A flier is being created and will be sent home. Future Freshman Night is a way for 8th grade parents and students to see and get more info about their high school. 8th graders and their parents are strongly encouraged to attend Future Freshman Night.
- Winter Concert: The Edison Middle School Band's Winter Concert is on FRIDAY December 10th at 7:00pm in the auditorium.

- Headphone Sales: Starting Tuesday during lunch periods the ETS will be selling individual headphones for $2 each along with other supplies and donated items. All money will go to Tech clubs. We will continue to sell during lunches until we run out.
- CUSF Awards: The Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation is encouraging community members to nominate individuals for three alumni awards for graduates of Champaign Unit 4 and Urbana District 116 high schools. See attached PDF for more info

- Wrestling Tryouts: There is a MANDATORY pre-tryout meeting for any student (boy or girl) wanting to tryout for wrestling. Parent attendance is required as well. The meeting will be held on Monday, Nov. 29 at 5:30 PM in the cafeteria at Edison. At this meeting the coaches will share their expectations and the rubric being used for tryouts. Tryouts will be held Tuesday, Nov. 30 and Wednesday, Dec. 1 from 3:00 until 5:00 pm at Edison in the south gym.
- Volleyball Tryouts: Tentative dates!!! Once our 8th grade girl's basketball team regional dates are set we can confirm the tryout dates for 8th grade. The dates for 6th grade and 7th grade are set.

At County Market You can sign up for OR register your current County Market Max Card for Education to Edison Middle School, the number is #331. Remember even if you have already registered this needs to be updated annually. Target has a similar reward program called Take Charge for Education. Simply apply for a Target charge (Red Card)/debit card, get approved, and Target donates 1% of your Red Card/Target Debit card purchases to your school. FLU CLINIC INFO December 4-5th 7am-2pm at Christie on Windsor (Champaign), Christie on Windsor (Urbana) Vaccines will be administered to patients 6 mos and older.
