EDISON PTSA ANNOUNCEMENTS
Friday, August 28
· Student Council: Edison’s Student Council will have its first meeting on Wednesday, Sept 2nd. They will meet in Room 234, Mrs. Altenbaumer’s room, from 2:45-3:30. All students are invited to join. The Student Council would like to have good representation from all grades and homerooms.
· Request for Hand Sanitizer: In an effort to keep everyone healthy this year, Edison school officials would like to have bottles of hand sanitizer placed throughout the building. Please help the school by donating hand sanitizer. You can drop off bottles with Ms. Wallace in the Main office. Thanks!
· Edison Cross Country: Congratulations to all of Edison’s new runners! They participated in their first race in Danville yesterday. On Saturday morning, come out and cheer on all of our Comets at their home race at Robeson Park.

· Tryouts for Girl's Basketball: Monday, Aug. 31: 8th grade 3:00 until 4:30 in the north gym and 6th and 7th grade 4:30 until 6:00 PM in north gym; Tuesday, Sept. 1: 8th grade 3:00 until 4:30 in the north gym and 6th and 7th grade 4:30 until 6:00 PM in north gym; Wednesday, Sept. 2: 8th grade 3:00 until 4:30 in the north gym and 6th and 7th grade 4:30 until 6:00 PM in north gym; Thursday, Sept. 3:Selected team will be posted after school outside room 122; Parent meeting for the selected team will be at 5:30 PM in the school cafeteria
Anyone trying out for the girl's basketball team must have the following 3 items on file with Ms. Borchardt by Fri., Aug. 28:
1. CURRENT PHYSICAL
2. COMPLETED CHAMPAIGN UNIT 4 FORM
3. WRITTEN PROOF OF INSURANCE

· Edison Baseball: The Edison baseball team played its first game on Saturday, Aug. 15 against Franklin. Varsity won 6 – 2 and JV lost 6 – 5. Go Comets! See their pictures online: http://www.borderlittleleague.com/edison/EdisonBaseball09.htm
· Box Tops for Band: Meijer is hosting a promotion on Box Tops starting today, 8/23 through 9/2. If you buy any 8 Box Top Products in a single visit, you will receive 50 bonus Box Tops ($5) at the checkout. If you buy any 12 participating products you will receive 100 bonus Box Tops ($10) as a coupon at the checkout. A copy of the participating products is attached. These coupons can be turned in with regular Box Tops in the big Box Top box in the band room.
· Edison PTSA Needs You: Consider getting involved with the Edison PTSA! You'll be more informed with the events, programs, and happenings at our school. We meet once each month at the school, usually in the Edison library. Our next meeting is Tuesday, September 8 at 7 p.m. Come at 6:45 p.m. for refreshments and to get acquainted.
