[Edison-PTSA] EDISON PTSA ANNOUNCEMENTS- October 30

EDISON PTSA ANNOUNCEMENTS

October 30

·         Home Access Center: The Home Access Center provides an online grade book where parents and guardians can view helpful student information to support and guide their children through the educational process. From home or work, at any time of the day or night, parents can access the Web portal (http://www.champaignschools.org/edison/HAC.html) to track academic achievement through their student’s test scores, report card, attendance records, and class assignments. E-mail links are also available throughout the portal so parents can communicate with the school and teachers.

A letter with username and password information has been mailed to parents. If you do not receive a letter by mail, you can contact the school office. You will need to go in person to the office and show identification in order to receive the username and password information for your student.

·         NSBE Jr.: At Wednesday’s Convocation, students experienced a wonderful presentation from the U of I chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers.  NSBE Jr. is a club that aims to encourage interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It is open to all students who are interested in learning about these subjects. Edison students will meet on Wednesdays, after school from 2:45-4:15 p.m..  In order to join students must have a signed permission slip.  (see attached NSBE Jr. file)  There is limited room so students should  turn in their permission slips as soon as possible  to Mrs. Mastny in the Community Center or to any teacher.

·         Parent Teacher Conferences: Parent Teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30. You should have received information about it from your student last week. If not, contact your student’s homeroom teacher. Reminder: Students have a half day of school on Thursday and no school on Friday because of the conferences.

·         Food for Teacher Appreciation Dinner: More donations are needed for the Edison Teacher/Staff Dinner on October 29. If you can bring a side, dessert, or drinks, please email Kristian Sargeant at Kristian.sargeant@sjcnc.org. This is a great way to show Edison teachers and staff that we appreciate their work with our students.
