  • Coach Mills: Many of you have heard about the tragedy with the Boston Marathon. Our cross-country coach Julie Mills and her husband were in Boston running yesterday. A family member has reported on Google person finder that they have made it to their hotel. Julie was .6 miles from the finish when the explosions occurred. Please keep everyone affected by this tragedy in your thoughts.

  • BIG THANK YOU: Huge thanks to all the parents who donated cookies for our open house bake sale and our parents who chaperoned Edison's dance this passed Friday.

  • Reflections: Edison is very proud to announce that we have 2 students who have advanced to nationals for the annual Reflections competition. This program is sponsored by the national PTA and encourages students to participate in the arts. Congrats to our students representing Edison at the national level. We will have more results posted as they become available.

  • Future Central Band Parents: The Champaign Central Marching Band & Color Guard will be traveling to participate in the 2013 Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia. This trip opportunity is optional for marching band & color guard students. However,  to plan for the trip, we need to get an accurate count of participants as soon as possible. We have additional details about the itinerary, cost, timelines for payments, etc to make available to interested families. Down payments/reservations are due before the end of the current school year.

If your student is participating in Central marching band or color guard next year ( or would like to but hasn't yet signed up--no experience necessary!), please contact Suzanne Lee, Central Music Boosters by email at president.maroonbands@gmail.com or by phone at 217-419-6809. We will follow up with additional information about the trip and make sure you are set up to receive future communications.
