Edison's Mission

It is our mission at Edison Middle School to work collaboratively to place the focus on the academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student first and ensure that ALL students are prepared for post-secondary education.

The Pajama Project Pajama Project:  In this spirit of holiday giving, Edison's cross country team is sponsoring this year's participation in the Pajama Program.  We are partnering with Robeson Elementary school in a friendly competition with Leal Elementary and Urbana Middle School.  Please help support to the cause by bringing in donations of new, teen-sized pajamas for our pajama drive.  Social studies teachers on each team are collecting pajamas now through December 12.  Pajamas will be distributed to local children in need through Salt & Light and CASA.

Spiritwear late orders/replacements pickup: If you had a replacement item, a missing item or a new order, please pick up in the office after school.

Spring Musical Auditions: The Fine Arts Department would like to announce auditions for "Edison Middle School: A Century Celebration" to be performed on March 5, 6 and 7. We need singers, actors, dancers, and students for the parts of The Temptations, Walter Cronkite, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Martin Luther King, among many others.  Audition information and forms will be available inside the entrance to the auditorium.  Auditions will be Dec. 16 and 17th, with an audition workshop on Monday, Dec. 8th.  Come help us tell the story of our school through the last century- you won't want to miss it!

The next great Edison video, "Go Edison" is in full production and we need your help!  The video will focus on school spirit and will be including a pep rally scene with the band and cheerleaders.  We are currently seeking donations of poster board, red paint, black paint, markers, red and white steamers, red and white confetti, and red and white balloons.  We would also welcome any other school spirit type props.  Please bring donations to Ms. Rotramel or Mr. Holden by Friday, December 5.   Thank you for your support.

Students: The "Go Edison video" needs your help!  Are you artistic?  Do you have school spirit? Then come help spread Comet Pride.  We will be making posters and banners to use in the video this Wednesday after school in Ms. Rotramel's room.   Come to room 330 from 2:45 to 3:30 on December 10th to help with prop production.  Can't wait to see you there!

Charger Preview Night is December 10th at 7:00 pm.  Come and find out about course selection for the 2015-2016 school year!  This event is open to incoming freshmen and current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students.   There will be an activities/sports fair with plenty of information on how your student can get involved at Centennial High School!
