EDISON PTSA ANNOUNCEMENTS
February 11
· Penny Wars Update: 6th and 7th grade students held a penny war over the past two weeks to raise money for Haiti. After everything was counted, they raised $2,374.72. This money will be sent to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. Way to go Comets!
· Thank you! A big thank you to Diane Sullivan and also Benchmark Computers for their donations of computers and speakers.
· Pictures: Spring Casual pictures will be taken on Thursday, February 11. They will be taken during PE. Order forms will be sent home on Monday, February 8.
· National Junior Honor Society: Edison's chapter of National Junior Honor Society will be accepting applications for the 2010 National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony. Application sheets have been mailed home to all individuals who have achieved a 3.0/4.0 GPA. Applications are due February 22, 2010. If anyone has questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Cain at cainza@champaignschools.org or Mr. Foli at folibr@champaignschools.org.
· Computer Club: The next Computer Club meeting will be March 1st.
· Volleyball: The 8th grade volleyball team played Unity on Monday and won. Congrats!
February 8
· Candy Grams: Student Council will be selling Candy Grams this week during lunch. They are 50 cents each and the money goes toward the 8th Grade Dance. Students need to know the homeroom of the people they are sending Grams to so they can be delivered properly on February 12.

Tues., Feb. 9 VB vs Eater, 4:15 and WR at Deer Creek Mackinaw (Bus leaves at 2 p.m.)
Wed., Feb. 10 VB vs Franklin, 4:15
Thurs., Feb. 11 WR at Mt. Zion (Bus leaves at 3:45 p.m.)
Sat., Feb. 13 WR at Chatham (Bus leaves at 5:30 a.m.)

· Baby Pics for 8th graders: All 8th graders are encouraged to bring in a baby picture or two for the 8th grade Baby Picture display. Please have your name on the picture(s). Explorers give your picture(s) to Mr. Guzman and Navigators give your picture(s) to Ms. Borchardt. Pictures are due by Monday, March 29. You will get the picture(s) back the day of promotion. If you have any questions ask Mr. Guzman (guzmanje@champaignschools.org) or Ms. Borchardt (borchaja@champaignschools.org).
· Edison Yearbook: Parents, students and teachers who have taken pictures at Edison events throughout the year, we need your pictures for the school yearbook! Please share your pictures with Mrs. Easton via e-mail, disc or flash drive at eastonka@champaignschools.org or room 346. The deadline for sharing photos is February 16. All discs and flash drives will be returned.
· Edison Band Families: The band has collected nearly $200 worth of Box Tops this year! Janet Roadcap will be sending them to General Mills in two weeks, so if you have saved them and want to help the band program at Edison, have your student place them in the Box Top box in the band room. They will be collected next Wednesday after school.
