The regional meet will be held on Saturday, February 23rd at 9:00 a.m.  Weigh-ins will be from 7:00-8:00 a.m. on Saturday.

 

IESA REGIONAL ADMISSION

$2.00  K-8 and Senior Citizens

$5.00  High School Students and Adults

 

BUS PARKING

Please have your bus drivers drop wrestlers at the junior high and park across the street at Lincoln Trail Elementary School in order to prevent congestion in our limited parking area.

 

CONCESSIONS

Food will be served in our cafeteria throughout the day.  We will provide a hospitality room for the coaches in our teacher's lounge.

 

SHIRTS

Shirts will be sold by the Cubby Hole for $12.

    7VB regional game at Jefferson, 6 pm (we play Franklin)

 

Tuesday, Feb. 26

    7VB regional game if we win on Monday game is at Jefferson, 6 pm

 

Thursday, Feb. 28

     7VB regional if we win on Tuesday game is  at Jefferson for the regional championship, 5 pm

 

Saturday, March 2

    Wrestling sectionals at Prairie Central High School, 9 am

 

Wednesday, March 6

    8VB regional game at Jefferson, 6pm

 

Thursday, March 7

    8VB regional game if we win on Wednesday at Jefferson, 6 pm (regional championship game)

Edison's Mission

It is our mission at Edison Middle School to work collaboratively to place the focus on the academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student first and ensure that ALL students are prepared for post-secondary education.

 

 

 

February 25

 

• 8^th grade parents: It is that time of year.  We are collecting baby pictures of your student.  The baby pictures will be put in the two display cases located across from the auditorium entrance for the month of May.  They will be taken down and returned at the end of the promotion ceremony.  Mr. Guzman and Mr. Becker are collecting the baby pictures.  Please write the name of the student on the back of the pictures.  We will be accepting them until April 12th.

 

 

February 21

 

• Attention 8^th Grade Parents: Thursday, February 28^th at 7pm in the Edison auditorium school, representatives from Central and Centennial High School will give a short presentation about future freshmen. There will be an opportunity for parents to ask questions. We strongly recommend parents attend this event.

 

• Southside Fun Night:  Friday, March 1^st  from 6:30-8:30pm Southside fun night is happening. See attached flyer for more info. They need some additional volunteers and all are welcome to attend.

 

February 18

 

• Request for Yearbook Photos: We are requesting for photos to be sent to Aileen Maggio so she can put some candid images in the yearbook. We need all sports and any other activities parents and kids would like to see represented.  My email is maggioai@champaignschools.org.  The deadline for pictures is March 5th.  

 

 

 

• International Day: Edison's International Day will be March 14th, 8-11:00 a.m. Last year was a great success and we'd like to make that happen again. We need adult helpers to be in the classrooms–we need parent helpers to host an activity for that day. Please contact Ms. Pinske via email and she can give more details. Her email address is pinskecr@champaignschools.org.

 

 

• LEAP (Linking Educators and Parents):

TOPIC: "Seeing the Sense in Spelling"

PRESENTER:  Gina Cooke

PROVIDER:  LEAP (Linking Educators and Parents) a dyslexia study group, serving east central Illinois

TIME: Tuesday, February 26, 2013, 6:30 to 8:00 PM

LOCATION: Urbana Free Library Auditorium, 200W. Green St. in Urbana

CREDITS: CPDU credits are available for teachers through ROE#9  (Please include your name and school when you request CPDUs.)

 

• Box Tops: Pull those General Mills Box Tops off the refrigerator and out of that drawer, clip them up and send them in to Edison to turn them into $$.  Students can turn Box Tops in to any of their teachers, and they will be collected to send in to General Mills.  Box Tops need to be in to teachers by February 22nd to be turned into dollars for this school year.

 

• NJHS: Applications for the Edison chapter of the National Junior Honor Society are now available on the Edison web-site and in the main office.  Applications are due to Mr. Cain by March 1, 2013.  Current National Junior Honor Society members do not need to complete the applications for this year, but should contact Mr. Cain about their 2012 community service hours.  If there are any questions please contact Mr. Cain at cainza@champaignschools.org or 351-3771.
