Edison's Mission
It is our mission at Edison Middle School to work collaboratively to place the focus on the academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student first and ensure that ALL students are prepared for post-secondary education.

Important Dates:
September 5th: (Thursday) NO SCHOOL–Fall Holiday
September 10th: (Tuesday) PTSA Meeting at 7pm in the Edison library
September 12th: (Thursday) Open House 6:30-8pm
- Ordering Closed: Spirit wear ordering is CLOSED. Distribution will be during Open House on September 12th.
August 30
- Stranger Danger: Attached is a PDF with information about an incident near South Side School. Please make sure to read the info and if you have any information about the incident to please contact the police at the numbers listed.
- Pink Eye: Attached is a letter from the district about a confirmed case of pink eye at Edison.
- Social Justice Committee: You are invited to be part of the Unit 4 Social Justice Committee. This committee is a vehicle by which we can work together to systemically improve our school district's ability to support student learning through the lens of social justice. Everyone is welcome to attend the meetings. 2013-14 committee meeting dates are August 29, September 24, October 29, December 12, January 23, February 25, April 24, and May 22. All meetings are held from 5:00-6:30pm at the Mellon Board Room. - Edison Band Golf Outing: The band program will be hosting a golf outing on Sunday, September 15th on the University of Illinois Blue Course beginning at 1pm. The cost is $75 per golfer and includes greens fee, cart, lunch and prizes. This is a fun way to spend an afternoon on the golf course and support the band at the same time! August 28
- Homework Club: Ms. Milani will be running homework club starting Tuesday, September 3rd, from 2:45-4:00pm in room 142. Homework club will meet Tuesday-Thursday and the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month. Students are expected to bring work to do and behavior expectations are the same as the normal classroom. This is a drop-in club and you can come as little or as much as you want. It is a great way for students to get extra help if they feel they're struggling with a subject or falling behind on homework assignments. Please be aware that students will be responsible for getting themselves home after club and will need to arrange a ride or know the bus schedule. - Dance Date Change: PTSA has rescheduled the first dance to Friday October 4th
- Poms Tryout: They are September 10, 11, and the 12 in the auditorium from 4–5:30 pm
- Open House: Mark your calendars! Edison's fall open house will be September 12th from 6:30-8:00pm
