EDISON PTSA ANNOUNCEMENTS
September 8
· PTSA Meeting: The Edison PTSA will meet tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Edison (follow the signs to the room). Come and meet our principal, Ms. Levy, and learn more about Edison. We'll have an informal gathering time at 6:45 p.m. with refreshments.
· Open House: Find out your student’s schedule and meet their teachers tomorrow night, September 9. The Open House starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. in Edison’s auditorium.
· Edison Spirit Wear: There is still time to order Edison Spirit wear! Orders can be placed at the Open House or by filling out the attached order form and sending it to the office with payment. The orders taken at registration are currently being worked on by Campus Sportswear and should be ready shortly. All orders will be passed out to your student at school. · 2010 orders for 8th graders: Any 8th grader who is interested in purchasing clothing with “2010” on it, should turn in their order by October 9. T-shirts, long sleeve shirts and hooded sweatshirts are available. More information is available on the order form that is attached. Ms. Borchardt or Mr. Guzman can answer any questions.
· Boys Basketball tryouts: Boys basketball tryouts will begin October 19. All young men interested in trying out for the basketball team must have:
1. A current physical on file (if your physical from last year is still good you still need to turn in a new Champaign Unit 4 form and proof of insurance).
2. Completed Champaign Unit 4 form (attached)
3. Proof of insurance
· Athletic events for the week:
o Tuesday, September 8: Varsity and JV baseball against Franklin at Spalding, 4:15 p.m.
o Wednesday, September 9: JV baseball against Holy Cross at Spalding, 4:00 p.m.
o Thursday, September 10: Varsity baseball against St. Matt's at St. Matt's, 4:00 p.m. AND XCountry at Jefferson, 4:00 p.m.
o Saturday, September 12: Varsity and JV baseball vs Holy Cross at Zahnd (last home game), 10:00 a.m. AND XCountry at Normal Parkside, 9:30 a.m.
September 4
· Math Lab Starts Next Week: 8th Grade Math Lab will be starting next week. Tuesdays it will be run by Mrs. Ray in room 312 and Thursdays it will be run by Mr. Ramirez in room 320. Students are welcome to come and get help from their math teacher or simply do their homework. Math Lab goes from 2:45 to 3:45 and is free to all students. Please arrange for transportation home from Math Lab. Students are free to leave whenever they are done or whenever their parents arranged for them to leave. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s 8th grade math teacher.
· Baseball Scores: Edison’s Baseball teams have had a busy schedule this week. The current Varsity record is 5 wins and 4 losses. Here’s a summary:
