Athletic Events for January

 

 

 

 

Congratulations to our 7BBB team on an exciting season. The boys faced Mahomet this past Sat. in their first regional game. Unfortunately we were unable to defeat Mahomet. Our 8BBB team begins regional play this Sat., Jan. 26 at Monticello Middle School against Mahomet. Their game is at 11:30. Yes, I have the correct regional info. Our 7BBB and 8BBB team first regional game info is exactly the same.

If our 8BBB team wins on Sat. they will play on Monday, Jan. 28 at 6:15 against Jefferson or Franklin. If they win on Monday they will play for the regional championship game on Thurs., Jan. 31 at 5 pm good luck to our 8BBB team

VB vs St. Joe, 4:15 pm (team/individual pics prior to game)

WR at Bloomington, 4:30 pm (dismissal time for Edison wrestlers is 2:00 pm)

6BBB game versus St. Joe, 5 pm (4:15 team/individual pictures in north gym)

VB at Franklin, 4:15 pm

VB versus South View, 4:15 pm

VB versus Normal Kingsley, 4:15 pm

Edison's Mission

It is our mission at Edison Middle School to work collaboratively to place the focus on the academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student first and ensure that ALL students are prepared for post-secondary education.

 

 

January 22

 

• Edison Jazz Bands: Come check out Edison's Jazz Bands as they present an Evening of Java and Jazz on Friday, February 1, beginning at 6:30 pm at the Laborer's Union Hall in Urbana.  Maybe your child has a friend who plays in one of the bands, or maybe your child is interested in being a part of the Jazz Band Program next year.  The ticket price of $25 includes a full dinner buffet, dessert, and a beverage.   A cash bar is available as well.  To order tickets talk to a Jazz Band parent or email EdisonJavaandJazz@gmail.com.

 

 

 

January 18

 

• HS Registration: High School registration for our 8th graders will be on February 5th during the morning classes (7:55 - 12:03). Centennial and Central Counselors will be here to conduct the registration. An informative presentation will occur during the Social Studies classes on January 23rd for Mr. Guzman's classes and on January 28th for Mr. Becker's classes. Students will be given information on the High School classes that will be offered for them.

• NJHS: Applications for the Edison chapter of the National Junior Honor Society are now available on the Edison web-site and in the main office.  Applications are due to Mr. Cain by March 1, 2013.  Current National Junior Honor Society members do not need to complete the applications for this year, but should contact Mr. Cain about their 2012 community service hours.  If there are any questions please contact Mr. Cain at cainza@champaignschools.org or 351-3771.

• Community Forums: Champaign Schools will hold informational forums to discuss the Schools of Controlled Choice registration process. The forums will also include a Showcase of Schools. This will provide an opportunity for parents and guardians to meet and talk with individual school staff members. Attached is a schedule of events.
