COMMUNITY ACTIVITY

·         Did you know? Champaign-Urbana Theatre Company has GREAT activities for kids!

o   Audition Preparation Workshop, Saturday, April 10: Ever wanted to audition for a show, but you weren't sure how to do it? Join CUTC directors, musicians, and choreographers for a special one-day workshop on how to audition for a show! $50 for half-day session. Morning Session for ages 8-12: April 10 from 8:00-11:30 AM.  Afternoon Session for ages 13-18: April 10 from 1:00-4:30 PM

o   Weekly Acting Classes, New sessions starting April 12: Readers' Theatre: ages 7-10; Theatre Arts I: ages 11-1; Theatre Arts II: ages 14 to adult; $150 per eight-week session

Reader's Theatre involves children in oral reading through reading parts in scripts. Unlike traditional theatre, the emphasis is mainly on oral expression of the part. It involves children in understanding their world, creating their own scripts, reading aloud, performing with a purpose, and bringing enjoyment to both themselves and their audiences.

In Theatre Arts, students gain exposure to the process of creating dramatic work. Topics of study include: scene work and memorization, breathing and vocalization, movement and blocking, and character development.

Register early, as space is limited! For more information or to register for these programs, please call the CUTC office at 217-344-3884 or email Lisa Cerezo at education@cutc.org.
