PTSA Meeting: Edison's next PTSA meeting is tonight, Tuesday 21^st at 7pm in the Edison Library. All are welcome to attend. Informal gathering time is 6:45pm.

Edison Jazz Bands: Edison families--come and hear Edison's Jazz Bands 1 and 2 play some great music at Champaign Central High School's "Swing Central". The event is Friday March 2 at the Champaign Country Club beginning at 5:30 pm. There will be swing dancing all night long to big band music from Edison's bands, along with the bands from Champaign Central and Urbana High School. All of the ticket information is available at www.maroons.org/swing . Tickets are $15 for high school and younger students and $25 for adults. Tickets include a full buffet dinner and an entire evening of great music and dancing. Tickets must be ordered by this Friday, February 24--no tickets will be available at the door!

Congrats to Mr. Uppinghouse and Mr. Howard: Monday night the Board of Education confirmed Mr. Justin Uppinghouse as principal of Edison Middle School, where he has been serving as Interim Principal. Uppinghouse has been at Edison since August of 2009, having most recently served as Assistant Principal. Also at Edison, Mr. Tony Howard has been named assistant principal at Edison Middle School. Howard has been at Edison since 2006, and was previously a teacher there and has been serving as interim assistant principal. Great leadership at Edison!

Yearbook Pictures: Pictures needed for the yearbook! The school yearbook needs candid pictures from cross-country, baseball, basketball, volleyball, and wrestling. Please send digital pictures to Mrs. Easton. eastonka@champaignschools.org or drop off a picture disk in the main office. *We are asking for photos throughout the month of February!

National Junior Honor Society: Applications for the Edison chapter of the National Junior Honor Society are now available on the see attachment or in the main office. Applications are due to Mr. Cain by March 2, 2012. If there are any questions please contact Mr. Cain at cainza@champaignschools.org or 351-3771.

International Day Volunteers: Letters have gone home and we need volunteers for this event! We especially need someone who is well versed with using chopsticks and is able to show others how to use them too. To volunteer. Please e-mail pinskecr@champaignschools.org if you can help.

International Day: Edison is excited to announce there will be an International Day on March 15^th from 8am-11am. Edison is a very diverse school and wants to celebrate different cultures from around the world. This is a great event for the school and we hope students can donate items and participate in this special event. See attached letter for more info.
