Dear Parents and Friends,
It is with a great sense of sadness tempered by serenity that I write this letter of farewell to each of you. My growing family will be relocating to the state of Florida and I will not be returning as the Principal of Edison in the fall of 2011. The arrival of my daughter has hastened my desire to be closer to family and friends, and in this matter I have no choice but to follow my heart.
We've had a wonderful and fruitful three years where we collaborated in developing solutions to the challenges of our campus. My hope is that these initiatives will continue and that they will generate greater programs for the future of Edison.
I leave with a deep satisfaction over the wonderful programs that we've implemented together. We've made vast improvements in curriculum design, lesson delivery, technology integration, service learning, and student achievement. Our accomplishments are a testament to what is possible when we put our differences aside, focus on students first, and involve our friends and neighbors in the process.
I believe that Edison has built a momentum over the past three years that will catapult the school toward certain success and continued achievement. Each of you has what it takes to continue to support the vision and I hope that you will never accept less than the best from our teachers, students and from yourselves.
I value the beautiful friendships that I've cultivated during my tenure, and will never forget the valuable lessons, laughter, and powerful ideas that I've shared with each of you. I hope to continue to represent the best that Champaign has to offer and I wish each of you the joy that I feel at this moment. I continue living my dream.
