This trip opportunity is optional for marching band & color guard students. However,  to plan for the trip, we need to get an accurate count of participants as soon as possible. We have additional details about the itinerary, cost, timelines for payments, etc to make available to interested families. Down payments/reservations are due before the end of the current school year.

We will follow up with additional information about the trip and make sure you are set up to receive future communications.

  • Books by the Bushel: It's time for Books by the Bushel, the annual bookfair hosted by the Junior League of Champaign-Urbana and CU Schools Foundation. This year's event will be held April 12-14, 2013, at Barnes & Noble Bookstore in Champaign. Books by the Bushel is conducted annually to provide books for over 40 public and private school libraries in Champaign, Urbana, and Mahomet. Each school librarian submits a wish list of books that would be valuable additions to their library. During the three-day event, members of the community can purchase books from Barnes & Noble in Champaign and donate the books to their school of choice. Last year, over 680 books were donated from wish lists to school libraries. Wish list purchases AND personal purchases will count towards the amount raised for Books by the Bushel.  Barnes & Noble donates a percentage of the total amount raised during the event (again, wish list items, personal items, even cafĂ© items!) back to the schools for additional book purchases – 100% of the proceeds go back to the schools. If you forget your voucher, just say you're supporting Books by the Bushel at checkout. For more information, including event hours, a list of participating schools, a link to print your own bookfair voucher, and a complete school showcase event schedule, please visit www.juniorleaguecu.org.
