January 9
- PTSA Meeting: Edison's Next meeting is on (Tuesday) January 10th at 7pm. Officer Westfield (Edison's School Resource Officer) is giving a presentation/talk about bullying. After the presentation there will be a discussion and parents will be able to ask questions. The regular meeting will immediately follow. This will be an informative meeting parents don't want to miss.
- THANK YOU: A hearty thank you to all the Edison families that contributed cookies and candy to the staff cookie walk before break. We were able to fill 75 bakery boxes for the staff to grab on their way out the door for winter break. This is even more participation than last year! The help of the two wonderful ladies that helped fill the boxes was also greatly appreciated. We have fantastic, generous families at Edison!

8th Grade Parents below are important announcements for you!
- Attention 8th Grade Parents!! Future Freshman Night: Attached is more info about Future Freshman night for Central and Centennial Schools. 8th Grade parents and students are strongly encouraged to attend.
- High School Registration: Parents should have received a letter from the district regarding high school registration. High School counselors will be at Edison February 7th . Edison's counselor will give course books to students soon to help them select their courses for 9th grade.
- Career Crusing: 8th graders at Edison participate in a computer program called Career Cruising. This program allows students to explore their interests and helps them figure out what career they might be best suited for.

*Congratulations to our wrestling and volleyball teams! Our wrestling team attended an invitational tournament in Bloomington on Saturday. The following wrestlers received medals:
Anthony Davis – first
Drake Mingo – 2nd
Darnell Fleming – 3rd
Julien Turner – 4th
Isaiah Unander – 6th
Our volleyball teams attended the Rantoul Bulldog Invitational on Saturday. Both teams won 1st place.
January 6
- Student Council: Attached is a list of student council meetings and student council officer meetings.
- Report Cards: Report cards should be going out within the next 2 weeks.
- Honor Roll Party: The Honor Roll party is January 20th for students who made the Honor Roll for 2nd quarter. The students look forward to this reward for their hard work. We are asking parents to donate food items. The food items don't have to be individually wrapped and no drinks. Bulk food items like chips, cookies, crackers etc. Please drop off the food donations on January 20th. All donations are greatly appreciated.
