Edison's Mission

It is our mission at Edison Middle School to work collaboratively to place the focus on the academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student first and ensure that ALL students are prepared for post-secondary education.

Tryouts for the 6^th grade basketball team will be Monday, Nov. 9 (today!) from 6:30 until 7:30 am. See Ms.Borchardt in room 122 to sign up.  Flyer is attached.

Upcoming events:

For home basketball, volleyball and wrestling events all Edison students MUST have their school ID to be admitted to the event.  Admission is $1 for students and $2 for adults.  Students are expected to have a ride home 15 min. after the completion of the event.  Students are to leave school at 2:40 then return at 4 pm using door #6.  Students are to enter gym only after receiving an admission ticket.

 

Any current 6th or 7th graders interested in competing in the IESA State Golf Tournament in Sept. 2016 please contact Jackie at borchaja@champaignschools.org.

ILMEA: Congratulations to our Edison band students who participated in the ILMEA Jazz Festival this weekend!  Kathryn Currey, Matthew Currey, Adele Miller, Anjali Murphy, Micah Patton, Lily Skiles, Anna Wachter, and Ben Young.  The following students will represent Edison at ILMEA Junior/Senior Festival on Nov 21: Daniel Bernstein, Matthew Currey, Kathryn Currey, Hewitt Friedman, Micah Patton, and Anne Schmidt.

No School:  There will be no school on Veteran's Day, Wednesday November 11.

Veteran's Day at Edison: tomorrow a number of US military veterans will visit Edison, speak with social studies classes, and have lunch with students.  They will also enjoy a performance by the 7^th and 8^th grade bands.

First Quarter Honor Roll Celebration will be Thursday November 12 in the gym.  Parents and friends, if you'd like to donate snacks to help with the celebration, please mark your student's grade level and have your student drop off in the Student Services office the morning of Nov 12.
