- Candid photos needed for the yearbook: We still need pictures of Band, Jazz Band, Baseball, Wrestling, and Boys Basketball (7th and 8th).
- Wrestling Results: Wrestling results from Mahomet tournament on Tues., Feb. 15. - Foreign Language Club: Edison Foreign Language Club is a new club this year. We are starting to have an active following of students in both French and Spanish. We are excited to say that the students are starting to think globally and thus wanted to do a service project as part of their involvement in the club. They wanted to help children in other countries who could not get the necessities, like food or medicine, that they need. They chose to donate to Casa Jackson, which is an organization that serves malnourished children in Guatemala. We have set our goal to raise $500 by May 1st 2011. Edison Foreign Language Club is kicking off a fundraiser for Casa Jackson by selling Cultural Valentines (&chocolate kisses) for $0.50 on Monday February 14th during lunches.

- Volunteers are Needed: Volunteers are needed to monitor halls during ISAT testing Feb 28th-March 3rd for two shifts

- Yearbook Orders: It's time to order 2010-2011 Year Books if you did not already order them at registration in the summer. The Year Books are $22.00. Orders can be brought to the Discipline Office with the order form or mailed to Edison Middle School at 306 West Green Street, Champaign, IL 61820 until March 18, 2011. Edison can not promise that there will be extra books so please place an order to be sure to get one. Checks should be made payable to Edison Middle School.
- Junior National Honor Society: Applications for the Edison chapter of the National Junior Honor Society are now available on the Edison web-site and in the main office. Applications are due to Mr. Cain by February 22, 2011. If there are any questions please contact Mr. Cain at cainza@champaignschools.org or 351-3771. (Attached is a PDF of the application)
- 8th graders we need a baby picture: Please bring in a baby picture(s) in an envelope with your name on it. If you could put your name on the back of each picture that would be fantastic. The pictures will be used for a display. You WILL GET your picture(s) back on the day of promotion. Give your picture(s) to Mr. Guzman or Ms. Borchardt.

At County Market You can sign up for OR register your current County Market Max Card for Education to Edison Middle School, the number is #331. Remember even if you have already registered this needs to be updated annually. Target has a similar reward program called Take Charge for Education. Simply apply for a Target charge (Red Card)/debit card, get approved, and Target donates 1% of your Red Card/Target Debit card purchases to your school.
