Track: Our IESA track season will begin Monday, March 17 with the following three coaches leading the charge.

Attached is the tentative schedule.  We are waiting to hear back from two other schools. Pracitce times/dates have not been set yet.

 

 

January 9

 

 

Congrats! Congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade boys basketball teams as both teams were victorious over Jefferson last night.  Our boys last home game will be next Tues., Jan. 14.

 

Volleyball: Good luck to our Lady Comets Volleyball teams tonight as they open their season with a home game against Mahomet at 4:15 pm.

 

Cheer Club: Congratulations to our Edison Cheer Club.  They competed in the Winter Meltdown in Schaumburg, Illinois on Jan. 4.  The Cheer Club came home with a 2nd place trophy.  Their trophy and picture will be displayed in the display case outside the auditorium.

 

GBB Banquet: All Girls Basketball players make sure you RSVP (please respond) to Ms. Borchardt letting her know if you will or will not be attending the banquet on Wed., Jan. 15.  Ms. Borchardt also needs to know how many family members will be attending with you.

 

 Track: Outside the cafeteria on the windows you will find a list.  If you name is on the list that means you signed up for track but you have incomplete paperwork so you will need to see Ms. Borchardt by Jan. 17 or you will be dropped from the roster. All students interested in track should have signed up by now.  If you forgot to sign up please see Ms. Borchardt by Jan. 17 so you can be placed on a waiting list.

 

Bling Shirt: If you are interested in purchasing an Edison Bling shirt see Ms. Borchardt after school.  We have 4 shirts in various sizes available for sale.

Edison's Mission

It is our mission at Edison Middle School to work collaboratively to place the focus on the academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student first and ensure that ALL students are prepared for post-secondary education.

PTSA Meeting: Our next PTSA meeting is Tuesday January 14^th at 7pm in the Edison library. All are welcome to attend.

 

Honor Roll Celebration: We are asking parents to donate snacks for this Friday's Honor Roll Celebration. Parents or students can drop off snacks to the front office by January 17th. Suggested snacks: cookies, chips, granola bars, etc., This is a reward for students who have earned good grades this quarter. Please help us make this party a success!

 

Spring Musical Update: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Audition Updates

 

 

Audition Packets are now ready for pickup in the school's Auditorium, Music Room, and Library!  Just sign and grab...

 

 

(Wed.)Jan. 15th, 3:15-4:15 in Auditorium will be Audition Prep.  

 

**Audition Coaches will be available to help prepare students for a great audition and the music director, Mrs. Peachey will be teaching a song.  SEE YOU THERE!

Future Freshmen Night: Attention all 8^th grade parents!! Central/Centennial principals will be coming to Edison Tuesday, February 11^th at 7pm in the Edison auditorium. They will be talking to parents about what students can expect and be able to answer questions. Students are welcome to attend this meeting too.

 

School Dance: Edison's next all school dance will be Friday, February 21st from 6-8pm. We will have a DJ and food for sale. Admission to the dance is $2, permission slip, and student ID. To volunteer to chaperone/work the dance please e-mail apatton2@gmail.com. We need volunteers to make this fun and safe for the students.

 

 

January 8

 

Central Trivia Night: The Central High School Music Boosters announce the Annual Trivia Night, Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Faith United Methodist Church.  This event includes dinner (6 pm), trivia competition (7 pm), door prizes, snacks, and soda.  Raffles and silent auction will occur throughout the evening. Answers are submitted by your team at your table; you are not required to answer questions individually.  Early Bird Registration fee is $180 through Jan 5 (after Jan 5, registration fee is $200) for a team of up to 8 people.  All monies raised go to support Champaign Central's Music Programs.

 

Compete with or against your family, friends, or colleagues.  Find out who among you is the true trivia master. Ideas for team members might also include…

·   Civic group/club

·   Social group/club

·   Businesses

Spring Musical: Edison's Spring Musical Production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Audition packets will be given out on Monday, January 13th in the Auditorium. Everything needed (script/music) will be in the packet.

 

Audition dates for the show are:

 

January 15th --- 3:15 - 6pm in the Auditorium

January 16th --- 3:15 (Last Call Auditions) and Call-Backs at 4:00 - 6pm in the Auditorium

 

Performance Dates: March 13th - March 16th.
