Pajama Project Extended: Thanks to all of the families who have already donated to our pajama drive!  We really appreciate your contributions.  For those of you who haven't donated but still want to, our deadline has been extended to MONDAY!  That gives us an extra weekend of shopping to pick up a pair or two of warm pjs.  Students should bring donations to their social studies teacher. There is also a collection box outside of the main office.
Mini-Grants: Edison PTSA Mini-Grants are now available to teachers and staff!  Mini –Grants are intended to support special projects that cannot be funded with allocated classroom budgets, and can be especially helpful when serving a large number of students.  Ten grants of up to $150 each will be awarded.  Applications will be accepted until December 13, 2014 and approved requestors will be notified by December 20.   Contact Gretchen Pein at pein@illinois.edu if you have questions.

Pajama Project: Help Edison help the community as part of the Pajama Project!  Edison is having a pajama drive from now until Friday.  All pajamas will be paired with a new book donated by Scholastic and given to local children and teens in need for the holidays.  Our goal is to  collect larger/teen sized pajamas.  However, any size pajamas are being accepted.  Students can bring donations of NEW pajamas to their social studies teachers.  The Edison team that collects the most pajamas will be rewarded with a Pajama Pants Day.  Please Ms. Rotramel (rotramel@champaignschools.org)  if you have any questions.

Society of Women Engineers: The University of Illinois Society of Women Engineers Outreach is offering your students the opportunity to explore engineering as a possible career. The SWE BELIEVE Newsletter provides the students with an insight into the professional engineering world and the life as an engineering student. We are hoping to introduce engineering as a career possibility to students that may never have considered it before. Below is a link to our monthly newsletter on the SWE website. Any student or parent can also subscribe to the newsletter through the website.
