MAY 12^TH

 

TRACK: Our track team will be competing in sectionals this Saturday at Tolono Unity.  The meet begins at 9 am.

 

BOYS BASKETBALL: The Edison boys basketball camp for boys currently in 6^th and 7^th grade will need to turn in their registration form to Ms. Borchardt by Friday, May 23.  If you register after May 23 you will not receive a camp tshirt.  Fee is $30 for three days. Make checks payable to Edison Boys Basketball.  Registration forms are on the athletic bulletin board outside room 122 (flier is attached).

 

GOLF: If you are interested in participating in the Edison golf intramural please see Mr. Becker in room 316 or Ms. Borchardt in room 122.

 

CHEERLEADING: Central High School cheerleading tryouts begin tomorrow.  If you are currently in 8^th grade and will be attending Central in the fall stop by Ms. Borchardt's room or see one of your PE teachers for a tryout flier.

Edison's Mission

It is our mission at Edison Middle School to work collaboratively to place the focus on the academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student first and ensure that ALL students are prepared for post-secondary education.

PTSA Meeting Tuesday: Last PTSA meeting of the year!! This Tuesday May 13^th at 7pm in Edison's library. We are voting in officers and committee chairs. If you want to be part of Edison's PTSA next year please come to the meeting. All are welcome to attend.

May 22^nd Ticket Pick Up: 8^th grade parents a letter should have went home with your student regarding 8^th grade graduation. The letter outlines expectations and when families can pick up their tickets. Because space is limited in the auditorium, students will be only allowed 2 tickets. You will be able to pick up your tickets starting on May 22nd. If you know you will need extras you can be put on a wait list. Once tickets are distributed you will be notified if they are able to accommodate your request.

 

 

Summer/Fall School Physicals: Attached is a list of school physical clinics available at Public Health.

 

Music/Fine Arts Camp: Attached is info/application to a summer music camp

 

University Writing Camp: The University of Illinois Writing Project is pleased to announce that its Young Writers Camps will be held from July 21-25, 2014 at Urbana High School.

These camps are great opportunities for children in elementary and secondary grades to immerse themselves in a week of writing-related fun! Registration forms are available here.<http://www.uiwp.illinois.edu/camps.html>

The cost is $400 (including daily snack, lunch, and writing supplies). Some scholarships are available. Email Christine Campos with any questions:
