    Edison's Mission
It is our mission at Edison Middle School to work collaboratively to place the focus on the academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student first and ensure that ALL students are prepared for post-secondary education.

You're Invited: 8th grade Memorial Sculpture Museum
Who:   All Parents/Guardians, Students and Community members are Invited
What:   8th Grade Memorial Sculpture Museum:  Remembering Victims of Prejudice
    When:  Friday, May 15th, 8 am - 12 noon - Bring a Pen or a Pencil!
    Where:   Edison Middle School Library
Why:   Come enjoy our 8th grade Memorial Museum and vote on the best display, the one that most effectively makes a stand against prejudice and hate. The students have worked so hard and are looking forward to hosting guests at their "gallery" and having as many eyes and ears exposed to this important social message.  This is also a competition and they need voters to show up!  But, more importantly, we want everyone to remember the dangerous effects of being silent in the face of racism, prejudice, bullying and genocide.  The displays are original sculptures accompanied by a one-page essay that explains historical background information as well as the symbolism behind their art.
Student Council will meet on Wed. May 13th and 20th to get things ready for the 8th grade Dance.  Please be ready to get to work at 2:45.   We will meet in Mrs. Altenbaumer's room, 234.
Bike Recycling Event: please see attachment for information on a bicycle drive this Saturday, May 14 in Champaign, Mahomet, Monticello, and St Joseph.
