Edison's Mission
It is our mission at Edison Middle School to work collaboratively to place the focus on the academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student first and ensure that ALL students are prepared for post-secondary education.
Future Freshman Night is tonight (Tuesday Jan 19) at Central High School. Future Freshman Night is for current 8th graders who are interested attending Central next year and is held to prepare students and parents for high school course selection this month. Academic counselors will meet with eighth graders at Edison January 27th, 28th, or 29th to formally complete their course selections on Career Cruising Course Planner. See packet that was sent home to you recently for more information.
Tonight, starting at 7 pm in the Decker Theater:
1) A brief general meeting about High School and the evening events.
2) Tour the school to visit the different curriculum areas in the school where teachers will provide overviews of the different subjects/classes and answer questions.
3) Meet High School Academic Counselors and Administrators
4) Central High School PTSA is providing cookies.
Java & Jazz Fundraiser: the 2016 Edison Middle School Java & Jazz Fundraiser featuring all 3 Jazz Bands will be Friday, January 29, 6:00-9:00 pm at Faith United Methodist Church (1719 S Prospect Ave, Champaign; use west entrance). First band will be on stage at 6:30pm. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and desserts will be served.
Adults/HS: $10 ($12 at door)
K-8: $7 ($9 at door)
Family: $35 ($40 at door)

Dance: the next Edison Dance will be Friday February 12, 6-8 pm at school. Mark your calendars; details coming soon!

Thanks for the Box Tops collected so far this year! We will receive a check for $260 for the Box Tops we have collected and now it's time to start again. Mrs. Wells is collecting them for new PE equipment. You may send them into her or give them to any teacher to put in her mailbox. Thanks for the support!!
