Edison's Mission
It is our mission at Edison Middle School to work collaboratively to place the focus on the academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student first and ensure that ALL students are prepared for post-secondary education.
Good luck to our Varsity and JV baseball teams tonight as they travel to Unity. If the game is cancelled an announcement will be made otherwise the game is on.
Players are to be dismissed from class at 2:30 pm today.
Girls Basketball: The roster for the 7th grade team will be displayed at 2:40 today in Ms. Borchardt's room (room 122). Practice for the selected 7th grade team will be from 3 until 4:30 pm today so make sure you are prepared for practice.
The mandatory (you must attend) player-parent-coaches meeting for the selected 7th and 8th grade basketball teams will begin at 5:30 pm tonight. We will meet in the cafeteria. All players must attend - if you are on the team you will not be able to attend cheer open gym tonight since you are required to be at the basketball meeting. The 8th grade team will have practice AFTER our meeting.
Cheer open gym is tonight - you must have a waiver form turned in to Ms. Borchardt in order to attend. If you need a waiver form please stop by room 122.
Flier for Cheer tryouts can be found on the athletic bulletin board outside room 122. Tryouts will be Monday, Sept. 14, Tuesday, Sept. 15 and Wednesday, Sept. 15 from 4 until 6 pm. You must attend all 3 days to be considered for the team and you MUST have all the required paperwork turned in to Ms. Borchardt (check the list outside the cafeteria to see if you are cleared for tryouts).
Open gyms for Edison students: a flier for upcoming open gym dates/times can be found on the athletic bulletin board outside room 122. The first open gym is Sunday, Sept. 13 from 2 until 4 pm in the north gym.
You must have a waiver form turned in to Ms. Borchardt in order to attend.
Boys listen up: Tryouts for the 7th and 8th grade teams will be held on Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20. If you are interested you can pick up a flier on the athletic bulletin board outside room 122.
6th graders you can tryout for the 7th grade team. Info about the 6th grade only basketball team will be announced once we receive info about the schedule.
You must have a current physical, completed unit 4 form, completed waiver form and a copy of your insurance info on file with Ms. Borchardt by Oct. 2.
6th grade basketball: Details will be coming soon. This team is in partnership with the Park District who determines the schedule which we will receive towards middle/end of October.
We need a volunteer coach for the 6th grade team. If you are interested please contact Jackie Borchardt.
Wed., Sept. 2
· Baseball DH at Unity, 4 pm (players are to leave class at 2:30 pm)
· Cheer open gym from 4 - 6 pm in the south gym - anyone attending must have a current waiver form on file with Ms. Borchardt
· GBB (Girls Basketball) Parent - Player - Coaches meeting for the selected team in the Edison Cafeteria beginning at 5:30 pm.
Thurs., Sept. 3
· Baseball DH at Zahnd vs Jefferson, 4:15 pm PIC DAY for Baseball team (players are to bring their order envelope and payment with the to the field so they can turn it in to the photographer) - PICS will begin to be taken at 3pm
Friday, Sept. 4
· XC (Cross Country) at Chrisman, 4pm (eligible runners are to be dismissed from class at 2:00 pm)
Sat., Sept. 5
· Varsity Baseball vs Rantoul at Zahnd, 10 am
