Edison's Mission
It is our mission at Edison Middle School to work collaboratively to place the focus on the academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student first and ensure that ALL students are prepared for post-secondary education.
Late Registration: if you couldn't make it to registration on August 5, Late Registration will be Monday August 10 from 10 am – 4 pm at school. Remember to bring:
· Proof of residency which may include an apartment/house lease, mortgage documents, voter's registration, current driver's license, other documents acceptable to administration.
· Checkbook or cash (registration fee is $80)
· Physical/immunization forms if your child will be in 6th grade or is new to Unit 4.
School Supply List is attached. Also note that additional donations of Clorox wipes, paper towels, and hand sanitizer are always welcomed.
6th Grade Orientation will be Thursday August 13, 2015 from 6-7:15pm. The evening will include introductions of teachers and staff, overview of guidebook, school tours, and a parent Q&A with Ms. Schoonover. Athletics and PTSA will also be present.
PTSA meeting: the first PTSA meeting of the 2015-2016 school year will be Monday August 17, 6 pm in the Edison Library. We're starting early in August because we have a lot to plan, including Open House on September 14, the first dance on October 2, and a 1K family fundraiser run.
Athletics: schedules for XC, baseball, boys basketball, girls basketball, and volleyball are attached.

Extended Hours for Physicals at Carle: Carle Pediatrics and Family Medicine will offer extended hours for school physicals on August 10–13and August 17–20. This clinic will be available for Carle patients entering kindergarten, 6th or 9th grade and for new students entering the Champaign Unit 4 School District who need a physical bySeptember 1.
Physicals will be provided at Carle Urbana on Windsor, located at 1818 E. Windsor Road in Urbana. You must schedule an appointment to receive a physical. Appointments will be available throughout the day and after-hours on the above dates. No weekend appointments will be available.
Please note insurance will not cover the cost of your visit if you have received an annual physical in the last 12 months. Availability of appointments may be limited. Call (217) 326-1894 between 7 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday to schedule an appointment.
